In our continuing effort to keep dance alive in the community, the Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet has established a scholarship fund in the name of Ginger Burke, to assist dancers who, due to financial need, would otherwise not be able to continue their dance education. Ginger Burke was the founder of the Royal Academy of Ballet. Her love for youth ballet and her selfless dedication to the dance community was the inspiration for the creation of the Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet. What the scholarship awards
While dancing with the Greater Buffalo Youth Ballet, the scholarship pays a dancer's tuition for one dance season (September–June) at the Royal Academy of Ballet.
The scholarship also awards a gift certificate to a local dance supply store so the dancer may purchase whatever dance attire, or shoes, are necessary to continue their training for the season.
Requirements
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a minimum of two ballet classes per week.
Applicants must be between 8-18 years old.
How to Apply
Complete and mail the scholarship form, which includes background information and an essay describing why appplicants are auditioning for the scholarship, how the scholarship will help further their dance aspirations, and why they should be considered for this honor.
Mail $10.00 registration fee* with the scholarship form.
