Cinderella

Music: Sergei Prokofiev
Choreography: Elizabeth DiStasio-Waddell

Ballet Synopsis
Cinderella lives with her wicked Stepmother and ugly Stepsisters. Cinderella is treated very badly and is made to do all the chores in the house. The Prince's is throwing a ball to choose a bride, and the stepsisters are busy getting ready. Cinderella is forbidden to go to the ball by her stepmother, but Cinderella's fairy godmother comes to the door dressed as a beggar. Cinderella gives her some bread and to her surprise, the beggar is really her fairy godmother. The fairy godmother sends Cinderella to the ball dressed in the most beautiful dress, but warns her that she must be back by midnight or she will find herself dressed in her old ragged clothes.

Cinderella arrives at the ball and becomes the center of attention. Everyone wonders who she is. She dances with the Prince and the clock starts to chime. Cinderella runs out of the castle, leaving behind one satin slipper. The Prince retrieves the slipper and vows to find her, even if every lady in the kingdom must try the slipper on. The stepmother's house is the last house the Prince visits. The ugly stepsisters try to force their feet into the tiny slipper, but it is Cinderella who fits into the slipper perfectly. The Prince leads Cinderella away from the Stepmother's house and to her castle where they will both live happily ever after.
